RF-SISU Västra Götaland is the regional and local organizational leader of the Swedish Sports Confederation and SISU Sports Educators, with the primary task of supporting special sports federations/member organizations regionally and locally. All sports clubs in the country should have access to equivalent and tailored support regardless of sport and geographical location. Our main task can be summarized as representing, leading, and supporting as well as forming and educating within club sports. The position is a specific fixed-term employment.

As a sports consultant, you primarily work to develop and support sports and its clubs through outreach activities, advice, and education, as well as marketing and informing about our activities. The role of the sports consultant is based on creating good relationships in a network with sports clubs and important partners in the field for sports. The positions are based at the office in Gothenburg, but the work area is Northeast Gothenburg and Biskopsgården. Therefore, knowledge of the conditions for sports in disadvantaged areas is an advantage.

This position is funded by the City of Gothenburg, Sports and Recreation Administration (IOFF), and the work will be carried out in close collaboration with IOFF and the Gothenburg Football Association (GFF) in an initiative called Stronger IF, which will last approximately 2 years. The project aims to create sustainable club structures, ensure long-term leadership supply, and strengthen the capacity of clubs.

The work will be led by a project manager from IOFF, and the employment will be based at RF-SISU Västra Götaland.

The assignment is largely based on given guidelines and documents from RF, SISU Sports Educators, and the district.

As a sports consultant, you will be an important player in this work.

Main content of the position:

• Working in a team together with IOFF and GFF
• Using folk education methods to start educational activities in sports clubs
• Collaborating with sports clubs, schools, and other organizations in the areas
• Cooperating with the district administration in Gothenburg Northeast and Hisingen
• Arranging meetings, gatherings, and training in the area together with the team in Stronger IF
• Lecturing, educating, and leading processes for active members, leaders, and boards together with the team in Stronger IF

As a sports consultant, you will be part of a team where independent work is complemented by joint activities and meetings in the team. The work involves a significant amount of outreach activities. Evening and weekend work is relatively extensive.

You have:

• Broad experience of voluntary work as a leader or board member in a sports club
• Completed education with a focus on sports, leisure, public health, pedagogy at folk high school or university
• Pedagogical and social competence
• A pleasant demeanor and enjoy developing and speaking in front of a group
• Great interest in working with learning processes
• Good administrative skills
• Knowledge of the sports movement in general and sports life in large
• Network within sports in Gothenburg
• Knowledge of the conditions for club life in Northeast Gothenburg and Biskopsgården is an advantage
• Knowledge of conditions in disadvantaged areas is an advantage
• Knowledge of digital tools such as Teams and ZOOM is an advantage

The position will be operationally based about 3 days a week in the relevant areas together with the team from IOFF and GFF, but the starting point is the office in Gothenburg. Mobility within the district may be required, which means that a driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are a requirement.
